Market Practices and Regulatory Guidance

The EBA monitors regulatory developments in the European payments environment with a view to providing practical guidance on the changes that need to be implemented by the payment service providers and their customers in relation to new legislation. Where needed, the EBA also engages in a dialogue with the European legislators to ensure good understanding and a flawless implementation of the legal requirements.

The EBA runs and supports different working groups and practitioners’ bodies geared at deepening the industry’s knowledge on key payments-related topics and its understanding of regulatory requirements and their practical implications.

The resulting research papers or business practice recommendations are shared, discussed and further evolved with the EBA membership and the wider stakeholder communities at the EBA’s networking and educational events, such as EBAday.
